Biography
Mr. Peitzman has practiced bankruptcy and commercial law since he graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1974. In recent years, Mr. Peitzman has served as counsel for such debtors as B.I. Commerce Liquidation, Inc. (formerly, BMK, Inc.), Industrial Parts Depot, Inc. and for official creditors’ committees in such cases as Express.com, Illuminations.com, Komag, Incorporated, Reference Clothing, Steel Horse Automotive Accessories and Zyan Communications.
Mr. Peitzman has lectured widely for such organizations as the American Bar Association, California Continuing Education of the Bar, the California Bankruptcy Forum and the Financial Lawyers Conference. His numerous articles have appeared in such publications as American Bankruptcy Law Journal, California Law Review, and the California Business Law Reporter.
Mr. Peitzman has been president of the Financial Lawyers Conference, chair of an ABA committee on Loan Workouts and a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Commercial and Bankruptcy Section. He has been elected a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and named one of “The Best Lawyers in America” in the book of that name by S. Naifeh and G.W. Smith. Mr. Peitzman has been repeatedly named a Southern California “Super Lawyer" and one of the top 100 lawyers in Southern California by “Law & Politics” and “Los Angeles Magazine.”
